Brian and Claudia Pawl created this Dance Company with a mission of bringing people together through dance. Mezcla events highlight how we as a dance community can break down invisible barriers simply by showing up! Salsa Nights at Jimmy's American Restaurant in Aspen, CO created a vibrant introduction to the Salsa world for the Aspen Valley for over 20 years. Brian and Claudia embraced that inspiration and decided to create something new for the community to keep the dance spark alive. The love for community and dance birthed Mezcla Socials Dance!

MSD is the hub for weekly classes, practices and Socials in the Aspen Valley. By offering a safe and fun environment for dancers and even a launching pad for aspiring instructors and performers,  Mezcla has become a sensation. All bodies are welcomed here; to learn, enjoy and grow together! When we dance, we forget our barriers: language, ease of access, affordability, dance experience, other preconceptions and biases melt away.
Over the years, Mezcla has collaborated with other organizations and hosted volunteer Instructors to share their talents at both amateur and professional levels. These classes and workshops included a variety of genres like salsa, bachata, west coast swing, two step, merengue, Cumbia, and others.

Rhett Cardenas, Oscar Sepulveda, Diego Gonzalez, Kira Withrow, Ashley Hall, Flor Paz, Jesus Esquivel, Aurita Maldonado aka “Hurricane Rita”, Hector Arias, Antonio Arias, Alejandra Muñoz, Jesus Muñoz, Erik & Claudia Peña. The support to local and visiting Artists in their professional journey will continue. We aim to bring consistent diversity and variety in dance styles, levels, and experiences. These classes, trainings and Socials create a growth cycle with opportunities for dancers to acquire new skills, practice them, and apply them on the dance floor.
